This Meyer Görlitz Helioplan 4.5/40mm is from about 1949/50. From the days before retrofocus lens designs, this was the widest they could build for SLRs cameras. I got this 18 months ago as part of a set. I cleaned and relubed it (and posted the instructions here), but I never really took the time to use it for a project.
Recently, I decided to sell it - and, after sitting on eBay for 3 months, it finally sold. But before saying "goodbye", I took it out for one last ride on my Sony A7Rii. It's certainly not the sharpest lens (which I already knew) and it has a little haze. Plus, at 40mm with f/4.5, you cannot expect much bokeh. But it really has something special going on.
